12 Lists of Christmas: 10 Reasons Why Fake Christmas Is Ace

Happy Christmas, y'all!

Every year I meet up with my uni friends for a Fake Christmas day, and this year we accidentally hit on a genius idea by having it in January. Today, in fact. Not only is it something for us to look forward to, we managed to save money by gratefully accepting leftover crackers and Christmas pud (thanks Mum).

Here's why I love, and will always love, Fake Christmas:

Honey-roast parsnips (@lipstysalter has mad cooking skillz).
Mustard-roast carrots (see above).
Comedy Secret Santa (collect as much crap as you can for a fiver, pick a lucky recipient from the hat).
Drinking Jenga (this probably merits it's very own post, so I'll leave the full description for another day).
Unashamed, constant, face-stuffing.
Festive PJs/onesies/Cliff Richard jumpers (and that's just my own personal Christmas wardrobe... Not even joking).
RATE THE BOYS! This also merits a seperate post... To be fair, it could be it's own blog. Now that's an idea...
Laughing so hard I can't breathe.
Celebrating all of us being in the same room at the same time (it generally only happens once a year).
Catching up on all the lovely things, and all the shitty things, in our lives.

Happy Fake Christmas!

  1. Awww, we used to have fake Christmas at uni and it was GREAT. We used to each spend £10 on each other at the £1 shop and get cheesy gifts, it looked like a lot because you got 10 and have meal and stuff.

    Fake Christmas is the best.

  3. This is such a great idea...keeps the festive feeling going for a but longer. My friends and I are meeting sometime this month to do Secret Santa so might suggest a full blown fake Christmas now too :) Fun times!
